Plauens Rolle im Herbst 89 schleicht sich langsam ins Bewusstsein
Wir erinnern an die Kraft der Kerzen in Plauen vom 7. Oktober 1989 mit einem Friedensfest auf dem Platz des Wende-Denkmals. Mit der „Nacht der Kerzen“ soll der Funke der Friedlichen Revolution in Plauen und der Mut der tausenden Bürger von damals gefeiert, ins Bewusstsein geholt und weiter wachgehalten werden.
Mit einer besonderen Licht- und Laserinstallation wird der Aktionsbereich zwischen Wende-Denkmal und Lutherpark eindrucksvoll illuminiert. Lichtkünstler sorgen für einen bleibenden Eindruck unter den Besuchern. Für kleine Besucher wird es einen Licht- und Lampion-Umzug geben, angeführt vom Plauener Nachtwächter Friedrich-Wilhelm.
In einem großen PL-Buchstaben-Rahmen kann jeder Besucher eine Kerze entzünden. Am Ende soll ein großes “PL” leuchten, das für die Plauener Ereignisse im Herbst 1989 stehen wird. Auf der Bühne umrahmen Künstler, Zeitzeugen und Gastredner die „Nacht der Kerzen“. Mit dem Einbruch der Dunkelheit wird es eine Video-Laser-Licht-Show geben.
Die „Nacht der Kerzen“ soll für Frieden, Toleranz und Vielfalt stehen und auch der jüngeren Generation die Plauener Geschichte vermitteln und somit die Identifikation der Bürger mit ihrer Heimatstadt stärken.
Die „Nacht der Kerzen“ ist ein Fest für Bürgerinnen und Bürger, die sich besonders mit ihrer Stadt Plauen verbunden fühlen. Diese Nacht soll die tragende Rolle der Plauener im politischen Wandel aufzeigen und gemeinsam feiern.
